Cracking glass tile pendants..
I really like glass tile pendants - they fit really well with my recycled range as they enable me to use up scraps of comics and other papers. I've been trying to get to grips with making the plain ones- no setting just the image, a glass tile and a bail/ chain. On paper it sounds really simple - glue the tile to the image, seal the back and add a bail. The reality is that it is a lot trickier to get a good result - if it isn't done right there are bubbles and odd little crystallised areas which can spoil the effect. After MUCH trial and error I think I've finally cracked it - I've done a batch which have worked - hurray!!! The trick is the amount of glaze used - too much and there is glaze everywhere making the tile slip and slide, too little and the result is patchy. The next stage is to try to get a uniform glossy effect on the back....
