Valentine Stamp

I have just designed and made my first polymer stamp so I can make some valentine cards- the process is almost identical to that used to produce polymer printing plates (solar printing). In 2002 I went to Florence, Italy for a month to learn solar printing from Dan Welden who pioneered the technique - you can develop the plates in sunshine and wash out in water so it's a very 'green' alternative to more traditional etching methods. Luckily, given our weather in the U.K. you can also use a U.V. light source. I am hoping to run some solar plate printing courses this summer as it is really versatile - it can be used for intaglio and relief printing and you can also emboss from the relief plates.
